How to become a construction supplier for the Government

Are you a construction entrepreneur? You have worked hard for years and that hard work is finally paying off. Your projects have increased and you are ready to tackle projects on a bigger scale. You are informed that the Société québécoise des infrastructures has the intention of building a new structure in your region and you believe you are qualified to accomplish the project. You consult the Quebec government's online call for tenders system and analyse the project. You conclude that you could complete the project for a sum of 7 million dollars.  You wish to submit your price, but are you authorized to do so?

Since the Integrity in Public Contracts Act came into force in December 2012, companies wishing to enter into a contract with the State for either a service or building contract or public private partnership must obtain authorization by the Autorité des marchés financiers for all projects that exceed the threshold established by government decree. As of October 24, 2014, that amount has been set at 5 million dollars for contracts with the provincial government.

Therefore, before you submit to a call for tenders ensure that you have the proper authorization from the Autorité des marchés financiers! Once you have obtained the authorization it is valid for 3 years with the possibility of renewal.
